In 2012 Sara Barz won a Fulbright student grant to study urban studies, in general, and the Velib’ bikesharing program, in particular, in France for the 2012-2013 school year. Before becoming a temporary ex-pat, she worked for about three years at the Bay Area urban planning advocacy organization Greenbelt Alliance.
A Massachusetts native (Go Red Sox!) and Smith College graduate, Sara now calls the Bay Area home, where she can usually be found drinking her way through San Francisco’s Top 100 Bars with her fiancé, riding bikes throughout the region with the greatest cycling buddies ever, and organizing an up-and-coming storytelling organization in San Francisco.
